You’ll NEVER Guess What Biden Approved, Environmentalists Are in Disbelief

President Biden has broken a significant campaign promise, approving a massive oil drilling project on federal land.

Despite opposition from prominent progressives and environmental groups, the Department of the Interior (DOI) has approved permits for oil company ConocoPhillips’ proposed 30-year Willow Project in northern Alaska.

While the agency touted that it had reduced the size of the project by 40%, environmentalists noted that approving Willow could produce up to 614 million barrels over its lifespan.

When burned, this could spew 278 million tons of greenhouse gas emissions, which is the carbon footprint equivalent of 2 million cars.

Representatives Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Raul Grijalva, Jared Huffman, and Senator Ed Markey, all Democrats, criticized Biden’s decision in a joint statement.

Throughout his presidential campaign, Biden repeatedly pledged to block new oil and gas drilling on federal lands and waters while promising to steer clear of wildlife refuges in Alaska.

Biden has even gone on record to guarantee a young climate activist that “we are going to end fossil fuel.”

Yet, the president directly contradicted his pledge to ban new oil and gas leasing on federal lands when he oversaw the Willow decision process and ultimately gave the green light to the project.

This decision is alarming for Republicans and all voters who are concerned about the country’s future.

Biden’s inability to keep his promises is concerning, and it’s time for voters to hold him accountable for his actions.
