During her speech at the National Action Network 2023 Convention, Vice President Kamala Harris called Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and other Republicans “extremists.” She claimed that extremists across the U.S. are working to undermine the country and attack the freedom to vote, ban books, and limit the ability of people to love openly with pride.
Harris’s speech referenced Martin Luther King Jr. and the importance of presenting a vision for a better future. She then turned her criticism towards Florida leaders, opposing the state’s recent decision to ban abortion after six weeks.
Republicans must not tolerate these extreme attacks on fundamental freedoms. We must work towards promoting unity and understanding, not division and hatred. As we move forward as a country, we must hold our leaders accountable for their words and actions and ensure that they are working towards the betterment of our society.
