Vice President Kamala Harris recently praised Al Sharpton as the “conscience of our country” during a speech at the National Action Network convention. While some may see this as a positive reflection of the Democratic Party, Republicans must question the wisdom of this praise.
Sharpton has a long history of accusations of antisemitism and race-baiting, and his actions have inflamed the racial divide in our country. It is essential that our leaders promote unity and understanding, not hatred and division.
As we move forward as a country, we must hold our leaders accountable for their words and actions. We cannot celebrate those who engage in destructive behaviors, and we must work towards promoting a more united and understanding society.
While it is important to praise those who work toward justice and equality, we must also recognize the harm caused by those who promote division and hatred.
