It’s no secret that Vice President Kamala Harris has had her fair share of communication blunders. From her confusing word salads to awkward speeches, it seems she can’t catch a break. Even The Daily Show, a staunch supporter of the Democrats, couldn’t ignore it, posting a hilarious “Veep reboot” of Harris.
Fast forward to now, and Joe Biden has officially announced the start of their reelection campaign.
As expected, Harris’ supporters in the press are trying to spin her communication woes as a positive, claiming that she still manages to connect powerfully with her audiences.
Washington Post columnist Eugene Robinson even tried to smooth over her inability to get through a speech without confusing her audience.
But the truth is, Harris’ communication blunders are a liability for Team Biden. She’s not in her position because of any great talent she supposedly has as an alleged great communicator and effective politician. She’s there because woke Democrats demanded that Joe Biden pick a woman of color as his running mate.
There were other black women Biden could have picked who had more experience to serve as vice president than Harris. But he ended up choosing Harris, one of many poor decisions he’s made both as a presidential candidate and then president.
It’s why, as we learned this week, Team Biden is on a mission to “repair” Harris’ image ahead of what is expected to be an uphill and brutal reelection campaign.
The Democratic apologists in the press, as confirmed by Robinson’s column, are doing their part as well to gloss over Harris’ lack of accomplishments and problems engaging with average American voters. But the truth is, Harris is a liability, and they know it.
