Ohio Republican Rep. Jim Jordan has endorsed former President Donald Trump for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, according to Fox News. Jordan spoke to Fox News Digital before speaking at the National Rifle Association convention on Friday, where he gave his endorsement.
When asked about the Republican primary contest, Jordan said, “No one has demonstrated that they will do what they said and get things done like he did, and he did it with everyone in that town against him. And that’s what I still respect about President Trump, and I’m for him all the way.”
Jordan has been doing more than simply endorsing Trump with words to show his support for the former president. The House Judiciary Committee chairman has secured the testimony of a key witness against Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg who is prosecuting the former president.
A Democratic New York City councilman plans to testify Monday that Bragg has contributed to the “lawlessness” on city streets in a field hearing held by the House Judiciary Committee. According to the councilman, the crime rate in New York City has increased “because of Bragg.”
The hearing, to be held at the Javits Federal Building, is slated for Monday at 9 a.m. The goal is to “examine how Bragg’s pro-crime, anti-victim policies have led to an increase in violent crime and a dangerous community for New York City residents.” Committee Chairman Jim Jordan extended invitations to other witnesses to testify alongside him on Monday.
