Former President Donald Trump was reportedly forced to answer questions for seven hours during his second deposition in New York Attorney General Letitia James’ civil suit against him. This marks a turning point in the case, as Trump was reportedly “eager” to testify this time around, after invoking his Fifth Amendment rights during the first deposition.
According to Trump’s attorney Alina Habba, the GOP kingpin was “not only willing but also eager to testify,” and remains resolute in his stance that he has nothing to conceal. Trump’s lawyer reportedly spent nearly all seven hours “describing in detail his extraordinary business success.”
The lawsuit James brought against Trump is scheduled to go to trial in October if the suit isn’t settled before then. Trump ripped the case on his social media platform Truth Social ahead of the deposition, calling it ridiculous and just like all of the other Election Interference cases being brought against him.
Trump’s deposition is significant, as it represents a major step forward in the case against him. Republicans across the country are watching closely as the former president faces off against James and her team of lawyers.
