Another Potential Trump Running Mate, You’ll Never GUESS Who

Donald Trump is keeping the media and the GOP guessing about his choice of running mate if he wins the nomination in 2024. According to sources close to the former president, he is looking for a candidate who is “loyal,” has “charisma,” and is “ideologically aligned” with him.

Although no names have been publicly announced, insiders suggest that a lot of people are “auditioning” for the role, behind the scenes. The former president’s team has outlined specific characteristics that are likely to be considered, including how well the candidate presents themselves, TV-readiness, and loyalty.

In a recent Politico report, an unnamed Trump adviser stated that he is likely to choose a running mate from three categories: women, conservatives of color, or a trusted adviser.

Tony Fabrizio, Trump’s lead pollster in 2016 and 2020, suggests that Trump will be looking to balance the ticket based on gender, race, and ethnicity.

The Washington Examiner has identified four Republican women who could be high on Trump’s shortlist: South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem, New York Representative Elise Stefanik, Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders, and former Arizona journalist Kari Lake.

Of these, Stefanik has shifted further right, touting strong ties to Trump, while Sanders is the youngest governor in the US and has remained loyal to Trump throughout his presidency.

However, one potential pick that many hope Trump avoids is former Phoenix-area news anchor Kari Lake, who lost her Trump-endorsed 2022 gubernatorial bid against Democrat Katie Hobbs.

Although Lake only endeared herself further to Trump by repeatedly claiming widespread fraud occurred in the 2020 election, her inclusion on the ticket may be a step too far for many.
